REGENERATIVE FARMING
The Oddfellow Inn & Farm produces an abundance of locally, carefully grown foods in abundance through our gardens, livestock, and a hydroponics operations.
The Oddfellow farm believes that healthy soils are essential to producing healthy foods. We revitalize soil through annual crop rotations, cover crops, compost amendments, and the use of natural pest management strategies when needed. We also pledge never to utilize synthetic chemicals (such as synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides).
In the long-term we are moving toward minimal tillage, also known as “low-till”, to further build soil that sequesters carbon and generates much of its own nutrients through healthy microbial communities.
Our garden provides nutrient-dense produce to a 24-person CSA program (community supported agriculture), two Helena farmers markets, and much of the produce for our own French bistro, Maison.
